Atiku secured a total of 1,846,370 votes, defeating former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as well as businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

The result was officially announced on Wednesday night by the returning officer of the ADC presidential primary election, Tunde Ogbeha.

According to figures released by the party, Amaechi finished second with 504,117 votes, while Hayatu-Deen polled 177,120 votes.

The ADC also disclosed that its total registered membership stood at 3,113,599, with 2,527,977 votes cast during the primary exercise.

However, before the final declaration, both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen rejected the outcome, alleging irregularities, lack of transparency, and procedural violations. They insisted that the process did not reflect fairness and raised concerns over the credibility of the exercise.

In his acceptance remarks, Atiku called for unity within the party, urging his co-contestants to join forces ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said there were no victors or losers in the contest and emphasized the need for reconciliation and collective effort to strengthen the party’s chances in the general election.
