The controversy began on Monday after reports surfaced that Luminee and Baba Ijesha had welcomed a baby together.

Following the announcement, Annie reacted to the post by leaving a heart emoji as a form of congratulations.

However, her gesture quickly sparked backlash, with some social media users condemning her for seemingly celebrating a post involving Baba Ijesha, who was previously convicted in a child sexual assault case.

In her response, Annie expressed confusion over the reactions, saying she did not understand why she was being attacked online.

The actress explained that she had no knowledge of the couple’s personal situation and only engaged with the post because she was familiar with Luminee professionally.

She noted that the designer had made a dress for her a few months earlier, which was the extent of their interaction.

Annie added that she simply came across the announcement on her timeline and reacted with a heart emoji to congratulate the new mother.

She maintained that she was unaware of any controversies surrounding Luminee’s relationship with Baba Ijesha at the time of her comment.
