In a statement issued on Tuesday, Fani-Kayode said the development followed the approval of the required agrément by the receiving countries.
According to him, the Letters of Credence were presented on behalf of President Bola Tinubu by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye.
Fani-Kayode disclosed that he will now commence the process of reporting to Pretoria, where he is expected to formally present his credentials to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa before assuming his diplomatic responsibilities.
“I shall begin the process of reporting to Pretoria, presenting my Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa and commencing the important work that lies ahead,” he said.
The former aviation minister, who served in the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, described the appointment as another opportunity to serve Nigeria.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him and appealed to Nigerians for their prayers and support.
“My gratitude goes to our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the confidence he has reposed in me, and I covet the prayers of all men and women of goodwill,” Fani-Kayode stated.
He added, “The Lord alone shall take the glory for this, and He shall do great things. He is faithful.”
