The initiative is part of the conglomerate’s renewed campaign to stop the unauthorised use of Dangote-branded vehicles for transporting unapproved goods and passengers. According to the company, the move is aimed at safeguarding its logistics network and preventing the misuse of its trucks for unlawful commercial activities.

In a statement released by the management, Dangote urged members of the public to report suspicious activities involving its vehicles, stressing that every truck within its subsidiaries is assigned to transport only approved products.

The company explained that anyone whose information results in the arrest of offenders or the recovery of unauthorised goods transported in Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of ₦500,000.

Dangote also outlined the approved haulage responsibilities for each subsidiary. Trucks operated by Dangote Cement are authorised to carry only cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker. Dangote Sugar Refinery vehicles are designated solely for sugar products, while NASCON Allied Industries trucks are restricted to transporting Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products.

Similarly, Dangote Packaging trucks are meant for bags and other packaging materials, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals vehicles are approved for polypropylene products, and Dangote Fertiliser Limited trucks are authorised to transport urea fertiliser.

The company warned that any Dangote truck found conveying goods outside these approved categories would be treated as engaging in illegal haulage. It added that drivers and owners of unauthorised cargo risk arrest and prosecution, while the goods involved could be confiscated in line with the law.

Dangote disclosed that security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been empowered to arrest anyone caught using the company’s trucks for unauthorised commercial transportation. According to the company, the enforcement is intended to combat logistics-related fraud and protect the integrity of its operations.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on illegal haulage, the company appealed to Nigerians to support the campaign by reporting suspicious activities. It advised whistleblowers to provide important details such as the truck’s registration number, cab number, location, colour, type of vehicle, description of the goods being transported and, where possible, photographs of the truck and its cargo.

The company noted that dedicated telephone hotlines have been established across its operations to receive reports, including those involving trucks operating from its Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants.

Dangote Industries emphasised that public cooperation is vital to eliminating illegal haulage, protecting legitimate business operations and strengthening transparency, accountability and compliance across its nationwide logistics network. It assured that credible reports from members of the public would aid ongoing investigations and help ensure offenders are brought to justice.
