Inter Lagos announced the transfer on their official account on Sunday, confirming the departure of the 18-year-old defender after his impressive spell with the Lagos-based club.

According to reports, Olamikun has signed a long-term contract with Braga in a deal believed to be worth around €50,000. The teenager has already arrived in Portugal and is expected to begin his development with the club’s youth team before pushing for a place in the senior squad.

Transfer records indicate that Olamikun is now the eighth Nigerian player to join Sporting Braga. Former Super Eagles defender and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner Elderson Echiejile is among the notable Nigerians who previously featured for the Portuguese side.

In a separate transfer development, Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has reportedly turned down an opportunity to join Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor despite renewed interest from the former league champions.

The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers during the current transfer window following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Trabzonspor are said to have submitted an official offer for the forward, but reports indicate that Arokodare is not interested in a move to Turkey. Instead, the Nigerian international is believed to be prioritising a transfer to one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina have also expressed interest in the striker. However, their initial loan proposal was rejected by Wolves after it failed to meet the club’s valuation.

Arokodare remains under contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers until 2029, with the English club holding the option to extend his stay by an additional year.
