Yusuf Unveils Deputy Governorship Pick Ahead Of 2027 Kano Election

Governor Yusuf made the declaration on Monday during a strategic meeting with federal political appointees serving in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The meeting was held at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

In a statement issued after the meeting, the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the decision was informed by Garo’s loyalty, commitment and contributions to the development of Kano State since the administration assumed office.

Speaking at the gathering, Yusuf expressed confidence in his deputy, describing him as a dependable partner who has justified the trust placed in him.

The governor said he had no regrets over selecting Garo as his deputy, adding that the Deputy Governor had continued to demonstrate competence, dedication and a strong commitment to the administration’s goals.

He reaffirmed his confidence in Garo’s ability to support the government’s vision and commended his sense of responsibility in advancing the administration’s programmes.

Governor Yusuf also urged party leaders, political appointees and supporters to remain united as his administration works to consolidate its achievements while preparing for the 2027 governorship election.
