In a statement, Sowore urged the relevant authorities to conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Habila’s death, including an autopsy where required by law.
“There MUST be a coroner’s inquest into the death of Mary Habila at the residence of Tinubu’s Minister of Works, David Umahi,” Sowore said.
He further alleged that the circumstances surrounding Habila’s death pointed to an unnatural cause and argued that all forensic and investigative procedures should be concluded before any burial arrangements proceed.
Sowore also referenced previous incidents involving individuals connected to the Minister of Works, alleging that several deaths linked to the minister’s circle remain unresolved and deserve public scrutiny.
He maintained that a thorough and transparent investigation into Habila’s death was necessary to establish the facts and ensure public confidence in the outcome of the case.
