VIDEO: OsunDecides2026 — Police Officer In Viral Election Video Arrested

A police officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) who was captured in a viral video allegedly disrupting the ongoing Osun State governorship election has been arrested.

The development was disclosed by the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, which said the conduct of the officer had been brought to its attention.

According to the Situation Room, its partner organisation, CLEEN Foundation, contacted the police authorities responsible for security during the 2026 Osun State governorship election after the video surfaced.

The video, which went viral on X, reportedly showed an alleged disruption of the electoral process at a location in Modakeke.

Providing an update, the Situation Room confirmed that the officer seen in the footage had been apprehended.

It also urged members of the public to remain safety-conscious while participating in the electoral process and exercising their civic rights.

The Situation Room said, “We can confirm that the policeman seen in the video has been apprehended. We urge members of the public to prioritise their safety as they go out today to exercise their civic responsibility and franchise.”
