Kira Taiwo, one of the daughters of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has alleged that some Nigerians are attempting to exploit her family amid her father’s ongoing health crisis.

The veteran actor is reportedly battling stage four cancer.

Speaking during a TikTok live session on Saturday, Kira claimed that some individuals who offered to assist the family had made financial demands running into millions of naira and thousands of dollars.

She mentioned demands of ₦800,000, ₦5 million, $11,000 and $18,000, questioning how the family was expected to meet such financial obligations.

According to her, the family is not made up of billionaires and is primarily focused on finding appropriate treatment for the actor.

Kira also disclosed that the situation had begun to affect her own physical and emotional wellbeing, saying she needed to check her blood pressure because she was not feeling well.

She further revealed that Ogogo’s condition had taken an emotional toll on his brother, whom she affectionately referred to as her “big daddy.”

Kira said she became aware of her uncle’s distress through a family group chat where relatives regularly discuss the actor’s health.

She recalled seeing a message from one of her cousins indicating that her uncle had asked whether Taiwo was going to die.

According to Kira, her father and his brother share a particularly close bond, making the actor’s illness especially difficult for the entire family.

She described the relationship between the two brothers as exceptionally strong, saying the family members sometimes could not tell whether the brothers loved each other more than they loved their children.

Kira said she was also deeply concerned about her uncle’s emotional state, adding that she believed he was struggling to cope with the situation.

The actor’s daughter also revealed that she had become increasingly withdrawn and had avoided social media because seeing pictures of her father while he was battling the illness was emotionally overwhelming.

She said she was uncertain about how she would cope if anything happened to her father and stressed that she was not seeking sympathy from the public.

Kira explained that she went online simply to “cool off” but became emotional because of the deep connection she shares with her father.

She described Ogogo as a father who consistently wants the best for everyone and wants those around him to be well.
