Our Banter Is Over’ — Dele Odule Reacts Emotionally To Ogogo’s Passing

Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule has expressed deep sorrow over the death of his colleague and longtime friend, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Odule, in a tribute shared on his official Instagram page on Wednesday, reflected on his decades-long relationship with the late actor, describing it as a friendship that began when they were young men and eventually grew into a brotherhood spanning nearly four decades.

The veteran actor said Ogogo’s death was a devastating loss that words could hardly capture.

He also celebrated Ogogo’s contributions to Nigerian theatre and described him as a proud son of Ilaro, Ogun State.

According to Odule, the widespread mourning that followed Ogogo’s death showed that the Yoruba movie industry and the wider society had lost far more than a colleague.

Reflecting on their friendship, Odule said he would greatly miss Ogogo’s cheerful personality and the playful exchanges they shared over the years.

He recalled how Ogogo often reminded him that he was his elder brother and said his passing had left him and fellow actor Yinka Quadri without their longtime companion.

Odule wrote that he and Quadri would continue to feel the absence of the brotherhood they shared with Ogogo for many years.

The actor described Ogogo’s departure as leaving behind an irreplaceable void and said his memory would remain unforgettable.

He prayed that Almighty Allah would accept Ogogo’s good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

Odule’s tribute adds to the growing wave of condolences from colleagues and admirers across the Nigerian entertainment industry following the death of the veteran actor.
