Dangote Reveals The First Thing He Saw In Grenada, Names Burna Boy In Surprising Revelation
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has praised Nigerian music star Burna Boy for promoting the country’s image internationally, revealing that the singer’s billboard was the first he noticed during his visit to Grenada.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Dangote made the remarks during a media briefing, where he highlighted the growing global influence of Nigerian music and the contributions of entertainers to the country’s international reputation.
The billionaire businessman said he was impressed to see Burna Boy’s image prominently displayed on the Caribbean island, describing the experience as an indication of how far Nigerian artistes have progressed in gaining international recognition.
Recalling the moment, Dangote said the singer’s billboard was the first advertisement he noticed upon arriving in Grenada.
He stressed that Nigerians who project the country positively through their achievements deserve greater recognition and urged the public to celebrate individuals whose work enhances Nigeria’s standing abroad.
Dangote also described Nigerian entertainers as ambassadors whose influence extends beyond music and entertainment, noting that their achievements help shape how the country is perceived internationally.
“These are our ambassadors, and this is what we need to be talking about,” the businessman said, emphasising the importance of highlighting positive Nigerian stories rather than focusing solely on negative reports involving citizens overseas.
His comments underscore the growing role of the entertainment industry in promoting Nigeria’s cultural identity and strengthening its global visibility.
Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, has continued to expand his international profile through his music and performances, contributing to the growing popularity of Afrobeats around the world.
The singer was also reportedly included in Forbes’ list of 15 African Icons, alongside prominent personalities such as Dangote, economist Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and media entrepreneur Mo Abudu.
Dangote’s remarks have renewed conversations about the influence of Nigerian musicians and other public figures in projecting the country positively on the international stage.
