2027 Race Heats Up As Malami Unveils Campaign Council, Appoints DG

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has inaugurated the African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign council in Kebbi State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Malami appointed former Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sani Tadurga, as Director-General of the campaign council.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday, saw more than 600 party members unveiled as members of the campaign structure.

The council comprises representatives from various local government areas, senatorial districts, communities and political groups across Kebbi State.

As Director-General, Tadurga will oversee the ADC’s campaign activities in the state and coordinate efforts to mobilise support for the party’s candidates.

Addressing members at the event, Malami said the new campaign structure was established to unite the party’s candidates and supporters under a single, coordinated platform.

He stressed that the campaign should not be centred on an individual candidate or a single elective position, but should cover all ADC candidates contesting for the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.

Malami urged members of the campaign council to work together as one political family and avoid tribalism, sectional interests and internal disagreements that could undermine the party’s electoral prospects.

He also called for broad participation across the state, insisting that no tribe, senatorial district, local government area, ward or community should feel excluded from the political movement.

Malami is the ADC candidate for governor of Kebbi State in the 2027 election, with Musa Zagi as his running mate.
