2027: Malami Issues Emotional Appeal As Political Tensions Rise – ‘We Will Grieve Together

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kebbi State, Abubakar Malami, has urged members of the party to set aside personal differences and remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Malami, a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, made the appeal while inaugurating the 600-member ADC Campaign Council in Kebbi State.

The former AGF cautioned party members against allowing political ambitions to damage relationships, reminding them that life would continue after the 2027 elections, regardless of the outcome.

He noted that politicians and their supporters would still live in the same communities, worship together, patronise the same markets, celebrate together and raise their families alongside one another after the polls.

Malami therefore encouraged aggrieved members to resolve their differences through dialogue and reconciliation rather than allowing political disagreements to turn into personal conflicts.

He said:

“Where there are disagreements, let us reconcile. Where there are grievances, let us listen. When there’s doubt, let’s work to restore faith. Our diversity must become our strength.”

He added:

“Different candidates, one ADC. Different communities, one Kebbi State. Different responsibilities, one common purpose.”

According to Malami, party members must learn to handle disagreements with mutual respect and avoid turning political differences into lasting personal disputes.

He stressed that relationships among party members and residents would endure long after the election campaigns had ended.

“After the elections, we will continue to worship together, go to the same markets, celebrate together, grieve together, and raise our children together. No political goal is worth breaking those relationships,” he said.

The ADC governorship candidate also urged members to prioritise the collective interest over individual ambitions as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

He declared:

“We choose unity over division. We choose cooperation over rivalry. We choose reconciliation over bitterness. We choose respect over insults. We choose to put service before our own interests.”
