Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has shared his thoughts on raising boys and the role fathers play in their development.

Speaking on the Lahor Podcast, the actor argued that mothers raising sons without fathers may face challenges in providing some of the experiences he believes are necessary for boys to develop into well-rounded men.

Jim Iyke maintained that fathers have an important role to play in shaping boys as they grow, adding that he does not believe a single mother can independently raise what he described as a “complete man.”

The actor also recounted an incident involving his son during a family trip to a beach in France.

According to Jim Iyke, his son was bullied by a group of children and later approached him to report the incident.

Rather than immediately stepping in, the actor said he deliberately chose not to intervene, allowing his son to deal with the situation on his own.

He explained that his son eventually returned to confront the other children and fought them before recovering his ball.

Jim Iyke said the experience was part of how he believes boys learn to handle challenges and stand up for themselves.

He said:

“There’s no single mother alive who can raise a complete man alone. At a beach in France, my son was bullied by other kids. He came to report to me, but I did nothing. He went back, fought them and took his ball back. That’s how boys learn.”
