Man Recounts Emotional Hospital Encounter After His Late Mother Suddenly Collapsed
A Nigerian man identified as @Jaybea9 on X, formerly known as Twitter, has recounted the distressing experience he allegedly faced while seeking medical attention for his late mother after she suddenly collapsed.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the man revealed in a widely shared post that his mother was initially rushed to Ace Medicare Hospital, where she had previously been registered and treated. However, he claimed that no doctor was available at the facility to attend to her at the time of the emergency.
As the situation worsened, the family reportedly took her to two other hospitals in search of immediate medical attention, but both facilities allegedly declined to admit her. At one of the hospitals, a medical practitioner reportedly advised the family to take her to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
The man disclosed that his father eventually suggested returning home, but he disagreed, insisting that they should continue searching for a facility where his mother could receive treatment.
He subsequently contacted a neighbour by phone and was informed about a hospital located close to their neighbourhood. The family then rushed his mother to the facility, where a doctor reportedly began treating her.
According to the account, the doctor explained that the hospital had limited medical equipment and facilities to properly manage his mother’s condition. Despite efforts to save her, she tragically passed away three days after being admitted.
The incident has since sparked concerns about access to timely emergency medical care and the challenges families can face when seeking urgent treatment for critically ill patients.
