Chaos In The Ring: Speed Darlington Calls Out Burna Boy As Carter Efe Threatens Peller

Nigerian entertainer Speed Darlington has reignited his long-running feud with Afrobeats star Burna Boy as he prepares to face comedian and streamer Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing bout scheduled for October 1.

The contest is part of the upcoming “Chaos in the Ring” boxing event, which will also feature a heavyweight showdown between Nigerian boxer Godday “Zodsolo” Appah and UK-based Ghanaian fighter Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah. The celebrity bout has generated significant attention ahead of the event, with both Speed Darlington and Carter Efe already making bold statements about their respective opponents.

Speed Darlington, popularly known as Speedy, will be seeking his first victory in celebrity boxing after losing to Portable in his previous appearance. Carter Efe, on the other hand, enters the contest with confidence after defeating Portable in May.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the October event, Speed Darlington renewed his attacks on Burna Boy and challenged the singer to face him in the boxing ring. He expressed his willingness to fight the Grammy-winning artiste and reiterated the deep animosity he has previously expressed towards him.

The latest comments have once again brought the long-running dispute between the two entertainers into the spotlight. Their feud intensified in late 2024 after Speed Darlington made public comments questioning Burna Boy’s relationship with American music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs and the singer’s Grammy-winning album, “Twice as Tall.”

The disagreement later escalated beyond social media, with reports linking Burna Boy to a police complaint that resulted in Speed Darlington’s arrest and detention. Following his release, Speed Darlington continued to make public statements about the singer and later released a diss track directed at him.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the latest remarks come as Speed Darlington turns his attention to his October 1 showdown with Carter Efe, adding another layer of controversy to an already highly anticipated celebrity boxing event.

Carter Efe has also found himself at the centre of a separate dispute involving fellow streamer Peller. Their disagreement has played out publicly on social media, with both entertainers exchanging accusations and comments over their relationship and activities online.

The tension intensified following the permanent removal of Carter Efe’s TikTok account, which reportedly had more than 5.6 million followers. An earlier video showing Peller asking followers to report Carter Efe’s account resurfaced online, prompting speculation about whether he played a role in the ban.

Peller denied being directly responsible for the account’s removal and instead attributed the action to Carter Efe’s activities on the platform. However, during the press conference, Carter Efe made an allegation against Peller, accusing him of hacking his account. The claim remains an allegation and has not been independently established.

Away from the celebrity clash, the professional heavyweight bout between Godday “Zodsolo” Appah and Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah is expected to be another major attraction at the October 1 event. Godday has predicted an early knockout, while Freezy has indicated that he has studied his Nigerian opponent and identified areas he intends to exploit.

Other professional bouts listed for the event include Ezra Arenyeka against Lekan Muibi, Basit “Joker Boy” Adebayo against Fatiu Ijomoni, and Yusuf Adeniji against David Tagoe.

Balmoral Promotions executive chairman Dr Ezekiel Adamu has described the event as an opportunity to combine entertainment with competitive boxing while bringing major fights to Nigeria. He said the promotion identifies existing rivalries capable of attracting audiences but also aims to provide value beyond celebrity confrontations.

Adamu also expressed confidence in the quality of the professional fighters on the card, particularly the Godday and Freezy heavyweight contest, while highlighting the promotion’s ambition to attract bigger international boxing events to Nigeria and provide African fighters with greater exposure.

The October 1 show is therefore expected to deliver a mixture of celebrity rivalry, professional boxing and entertainment, with the Speed Darlington-Carter Efe clash likely to remain one of the major talking points ahead of the event.
