Poco Lee Prison Saga Takes New Turn As UK Prosecutors Speak Out
The sexual offence case involving Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, remains before a court in the United Kingdom despite reports circulating online that he had been released from prison and that the matter had been resolved.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed that the case is still active and that Odinaka is expected to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on September 15, 2026.
The scheduled proceeding is a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH), which is held before trial to address issues relating to the defendant’s plea and preparations for the case.
The clarification from the CPS follows claims on social media that Poco Lee had been released from a UK prison and that the complainant had either withdrawn the case or reached an out-of-court settlement.
However, there has been no independent confirmation from the court regarding reports about Odinaka’s alleged release, his bail status or any withdrawal of the complaint.
The CPS has maintained that the proceedings remain ongoing and that the September 15 hearing is still listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
A reporting restriction has also been imposed to protect the identity of the complainant, in line with Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
Odinaka is facing five sexual offence allegations in the UK, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. The allegations remain matters for the court to determine, and the entertainer is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
The case followed Poco Lee’s visit to the United Kingdom in August for the Davido and Friends concert, which was held at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.
