Chelsea Stunned, Liverpool Held As Forest And Ipswich Pull Off Major Wins

Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by newly promoted Hull City at Stamford Bridge, while Liverpool were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Fulham as several Premier League clubs dropped valuable points on Saturday, September 12.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Chelsea made a bright start at Stamford Bridge and took the lead through Morgan Rogers, who continued his impressive run of being involved in a goal in every league appearance this season.

Hull City responded before the half-hour mark when Mohamed Belloumi capitalised on Ryan Giles’ hooked cross to equalise. Belloumi completed the turnaround just six minutes later with a deflected effort that put the visitors ahead.

Chelsea increased the pressure after the restart and eventually restored parity in the 66th minute when João Pedro finished from close range. Both teams pushed for a late winner and created opportunities, but neither could find the decisive goal.

The draw extended Hull City’s unbeaten start to the season and saw them move into third place in the live Premier League standings, one position above Chelsea. The result also extended Chelsea’s difficult record against newly promoted teams, with the Blues now failing to win any of their last five home league meetings against promoted opposition.

At Villa Park, Nottingham Forest secured their first Premier League victory under Oliver Glasner after defeating Aston Villa 2-1.

Forest took the lead shortly after half-time when Liam Delap produced a powerful strike from outside the box. Villa responded through substitute Alysson, who headed John McGinn’s cross into the bottom corner to score the club’s first Premier League goal of the season.

Forest regained the advantage late in the match after substitute Igor Jesus converted Morgan Gibbs-White’s cutback. Aston Villa were subsequently reduced to 10 men when Ian Maatsen was forced off with an injury after the hosts had already used all their substitutions.

The defeat left Villa in the relegation zone following three consecutive home losses, while Forest finally recorded their first league victory under Glasner.

At Selhurst Park, Ipswich Town produced one of the biggest results of the day by defeating 10-man Crystal Palace 3-2 in a dramatic encounter.

Palace took the lead in the 14th minute through Anan Khalaili, but Ipswich responded nine minutes later when Emersonn found the equaliser. The visitors then completed the turnaround shortly before half-time, with Emersonn heading Dara O’Shea’s cross towards Leif Davis, who nodded the ball past goalkeeper Walter Benítez.

Crystal Palace’s hopes of recovering from the setback were dealt another blow in the 34th minute when Axel Disasi was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Jack Clarke.

Despite playing with 10 men, Palace continued to fight and eventually levelled the contest through Jørgen Strand Larsen with 15 minutes remaining.

Ipswich, however, refused to settle for a draw. Substitute Zian Flemming struck late in the match after Davis’ header had hit the crossbar to give the visitors a dramatic 3-2 victory.

The result marked Ipswich’s first Premier League victory over Crystal Palace in seven attempts and their second league win of the season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw by Fulham at Anfield despite dominating large periods of the match.

Liverpool started strongly, with Alexander Isak coming close inside the opening 10 minutes. Fulham also created a clear opportunity after Liverpool surrendered possession dangerously close to their own goal, but Gonzalo García failed to convert.

The hosts continued to create chances as the game progressed, but Victor Muñoz saw his header cleared off the line, while Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno produced important saves to deny Dominik Szoboszlai and Isak after the break.

Fulham threatened to snatch all three points late in the game when Josh King tested Alisson with a curling effort, but neither side could find a breakthrough.

The stalemate earned Fulham their first Premier League point of the season, while Liverpool extended their run to four consecutive league matches without a victory at Anfield.
