Shock As Gov. Adeleke’s Ally, Ajagungbade Emir, Is Gunned Down

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed concern following the killing of his ally, Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir, in Ile-Ife.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Ajagungbade Emir was reportedly shot dead on Sunday by suspected hoodlums during a dispute over control of a garage in the ancient city.

Governor Adeleke, while reacting to the incident through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, directed the Commissioner of Police in Osun State to immediately investigate the killing and ensure that all those responsible are arrested and brought to justice.

The governor also ordered rival groups involved in the dispute to immediately vacate the affected motor parks and directed the establishment of a Park Management System across the state.

Adeleke appealed for calm among residents and instructed security agencies to restore normalcy at motor parks and garages while ensuring the maintenance of law and order across Osun State.

The governor further disclosed plans to issue an Executive Order to formally establish the Park Management System, which he said would promote discipline, orderliness and effective management of motor parks and garages across the state.

He maintained that nobody involved in the killing would be shielded from prosecution, stressing that the government would ensure that those responsible face the full consequences of the law.

Adeleke also assured residents that security agencies had been directed to sustain peace in all affected areas and prevent further violence or disruption at motor parks across the state.
