Fresh Shock Hits ADC As National Assistant Secretary Dumps Party

The National Assistant Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hassan Muhammadu, has resigned from his position and announced his immediate departure from the party.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Muhammadu’s resignation was contained in a letter addressed to the ADC chairman in Bojude Ward, Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State.

In addition to serving as National Assistant Secretary, Muhammadu previously held the position of North-East Zonal Secretary of the party. In his resignation letter, he formally announced his withdrawal from the ADC and relinquished all positions he occupied within the organisation.

Muhammadu said the decision followed careful consideration, while expressing appreciation to the party and its leadership for giving him the opportunity to serve at both the national and zonal levels.

He also disclosed that copies of his resignation letter had been forwarded to the ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, through the North-East Zonal Chairman, Daniel Modu Bwala.

Other copies were reportedly sent to the Gombe State leadership of the party, the state party leader and other relevant officials within the North-East zonal structure.

Muhammadu, who previously served as Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Gombe State, is reportedly expected to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sources familiar with the development said the former ADC national officer is expected to work with the APC governorship candidate, Dr Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, ahead of the forthcoming election.
