Over My Dead Body — Lady Blasts GTBank Over Late Mother’s Money

A Nigerian lady has publicly called out Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) and a staff member identified as Samuel Gbenro over the alleged refusal to release funds belonging to her late mother to the family.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman made the allegation in a video shared online, claiming that she had spent more than a year trying to gain access to the funds without success.

She alleged that she had sent several emails to the bank and visited multiple GTBank branches to lodge complaints, but said her efforts had not resulted in the release of the money.

In the video, the woman specifically called out Gbenro, whom she identified as a staff member at GTBank’s Airport Road branch in Lagos, accusing him of refusing to release her late mother’s funds.

She said, “Samuel Gbenro of GTBank Airport Road branch, Lagos, you have refused to release my late mother’s money to me. This is day one of me calling you, and the entire GTBank. I will continue until you release that money to me.”

The woman further claimed that the dispute had persisted for over one year despite her repeated attempts to resolve the matter through the bank’s channels.

“I have sent series of emails. I have gone to several branches to lay complaints, and they have still not done anything about this. This is over one year, and they’ve not released this money to us,” she said.

Expressing frustration over the alleged delay, she insisted that the funds belonged to her late mother and should ultimately be released to the family.

She also warned that she would continue pursuing the matter until the issue was resolved, saying, “Over my dead body will a stranger take my mother’s money. Money she suffered to make? Whatever it is that you people have done with that money, you are going to bring it out.”

The allegation has attracted attention online, with some viewers calling for clarification from GTBank regarding the circumstances surrounding the funds and the reported delay.

However, the claims remain the woman’s account of the dispute, and neither GTBank nor the named staff member was shown responding to the allegations in the video.
