The Nigerian naira recorded a marginal movement against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Sunday, September 20, 2026, as the currency continued to trade around the ₦1,331 per dollar level.

According to Bush Radio Academy, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira traded at ₦1,331.2027 to one US dollar at the official market. The figure represented a slight change from the ₦1,331.2812 recorded in the previous trading session.

At the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, the dollar was reported at about ₦1,395 on Sunday. Other market reports, however, quoted different buying and selling rates depending on the location and dealer, highlighting the variation that can occur across the parallel market.

Exchange rates offered by commercial banks, Bureau de Change operators and other foreign exchange dealers may differ from the official CBN reference rate due to transaction margins, market demand and supply conditions.

Market participants are expected to continue monitoring foreign exchange inflows, demand for dollars and developments in CBN policies as the naira’s performance remains closely watched through the month.
