₦1.2m Dream Job Turns Sour As Woman Reveals Shocking Experience Inside Company

A Nigerian woman has recounted how what initially appeared to be a lucrative Head of Content position with a monthly salary of ₦1.2 million ended abruptly after she allegedly discovered several unusual aspects of the organisation’s operations.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman said the job initially looked like an ideal opportunity, offering a convenient commute, a 9am to 5pm work schedule and a monthly net salary of ₦1.2 million. However, she claimed that shortly after resuming, she discovered that she was the only person working in the content department, leaving her to handle the responsibilities largely on her own.

She explained that just two days after starting the job, she allegedly discovered that the organisation was primarily focused on pursuing venture capital funding while simultaneously developing about 63 products.

The woman further claimed that the company had a female forex trader working on its behalf with a target of generating $100,000 monthly. According to her account, concerns increased when the forex trader allegedly began asking her for transport money.

She said the situation became more unusual when the company later asked her to assist with setting up a podcast and studio. After preparing and submitting a detailed list of the required equipment and their estimated costs, she claimed she was subsequently asked to leave the organisation.

Reacting to the development, she questioned the situation, saying, “Na me Dey produce the studio equipment?”

The woman said she subsequently approached the human resources department to find out why she was being asked to leave, but claimed the HR representative told her that she did not know the reason.

She further alleged that the company later offered her only ₦93,000 as payment for the work and stress she had experienced, although she claimed the organisation eventually said even that amount was unavailable.

According to her account, the situation later deteriorated to the point where the company reportedly sacked all its employees. She added that the final employee remaining at the organisation allegedly went for six months without receiving a salary.

Her experience has sparked discussions online about workplace red flags, startup operations, funding-driven businesses and the importance of thoroughly understanding an organisation before accepting an attractive employment offer. While the woman shared her account of the events, the company’s response to the allegations was not included in the report.
