EFCC Arrests Suspended City Boy Movement Woman Leader Over Alleged Offence
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the suspended South-West Zonal Coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement, over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence.
According to Bush Radio Academy, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed that Tejuosho was taken into custody on September 8, months after the commission declared her wanted in April in connection with an ongoing investigation.
“She is in our custody,” Oyewale reportedly said while confirming the development.
The arrest followed an investigation into allegations that Tejuosho collected money from individuals after allegedly promising to secure federal government appointments and contracts for them.
The EFCC had previously questioned her over the alleged appointment and contract scam, with investigators looking into claims that purported appointment letters and other documents were used to convince individuals that she could facilitate government appointments and lucrative contracts.
The commission subsequently declared her wanted and appealed to members of the public with information about her whereabouts to contact the EFCC, the police or other relevant security agencies.
Following the investigation, the City Boy Movement suspended Tejuosho from her position pending the outcome of the probe.
The EFCC’s investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Tejuosho have yet to be established in court.
