She Was Acting Cold Until She Saw My House — Nigerian Man Shares Dating Experience

Published

A Nigerian man has sparked conversations about relationships and material possessions after recounting how a lady he was romantically interested in allegedly changed her attitude towards him after visiting his well-furnished two-bedroom apartment.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the man shared his experience online, explaining that he had approached the lady before leaving Nigeria but received little encouragement from her. He said her responses were often brief, and her seemingly cold attitude made him feel that she was not interested in him.

The man explained that he does not usually flaunt his possessions to impress people. However, after noticing what he perceived as a lack of interest from the lady, he decided to invite her to his apartment one Saturday.

According to his account, the lady initially accepted the invitation reluctantly but appeared surprised when she arrived and discovered that he lived alone in a well-furnished two-bedroom apartment.

He claimed that her body language and manner of speaking changed noticeably after she saw his living conditions. The man recalled that he was preparing a meal when she called him “babe” for the first time, a development he found surprising because of her previous distant behaviour.

He said he made efforts to ensure that she enjoyed her visit but chose not to contact her afterwards.

Explaining his decision, the man said the encounter left him with the impression that the lady was more interested in his material possessions than in him as a person. He described her as a “leech,” suggesting that he believed her sudden change in attitude was motivated by what she saw in his apartment.

His experience has added to ongoing conversations about the role financial status and material possessions play in romantic relationships, particularly when people are getting to know each other.

However, the account represents the man’s personal interpretation of the encounter, as the lady’s perspective has not been made public. It remains unclear whether her change in behaviour was directly linked to his living conditions.

The incident has nevertheless raised questions about first impressions, genuine romantic interest and the importance of understanding a potential partner’s intentions before drawing conclusions about their motives.
