Spend Your Money On Yourself! Yul Edochie Warns Men Against Excessive Spending On Women

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has cautioned men against spending beyond their financial capacity on women, stressing that financial contributions to a relationship never justify violence or taking a partner’s life when the relationship comes to an end.

The actor shared the message in a post addressing cases of men who allegedly resort to violence against their partners following relationship breakdowns. He emphasised that no amount of money spent on a woman gives a man the right to harm or kill her if she chooses to leave him for another person.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Edochie maintained that spending money on a partner is a personal decision that should not later be used as an excuse for violence or retaliation.

“Men, no matter how much money you spend on a woman, it doesn’t give you the right to take her life if she leaves you for another man,” the actor stated.

He added that a woman does not deserve to die simply because she decides to end a relationship, noting that men voluntarily choose how much they spend on their partners.

“She never forced you to spend your money on her. You did it out of your own free will. No woman forces a man to spend his money on her,” he wrote.

Edochie further advised men to exercise sound judgment in their financial decisions and avoid making excessive commitments in relationships, particularly when the future remains uncertain.

He encouraged them to prioritise personal development and financial stability by investing in themselves rather than spending beyond their means to impress or support romantic partners.

“To avoid such situations, men should be sensible. Spend your money on yourself. Invest in yourself. If you want to spend your money on a woman, spend only what you can afford to lose in case things go wrong,” he advised.

The actor’s comments highlight the importance of responsible financial decisions in relationships while reinforcing the message that rejection, separation or romantic disappointment can never justify violence.
