2027: Okpebholo Declares Edo Ready For Tinubu, Boasts Of 2.5 Million APC Votes
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is fully prepared to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates in the January 16, 2027 general elections.
The governor made this known on Thursday while speaking with journalists after inspecting the renovated secretariat of the Edo State Presidential Campaign Council in Benin City. The inspection was conducted alongside the council’s Director General, Senator Mathew Urhoghide.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Okpebholo expressed satisfaction with the renovation of the campaign council’s facility, describing it as a sign that the state was ready for the forthcoming electoral contest.
He expressed confidence that Edo residents would support Tinubu’s re-election bid, while also voting for APC candidates seeking seats in the Senate, House of Representatives and Edo State House of Assembly.
The governor further claimed that the party had already secured 2.5 million votes for Tinubu in the state, insisting that the figure was non-negotiable.
Although he said he had not been informed about a planned press briefing, Okpebholo explained that his visit was primarily to assess the progress of work at the campaign council’s secretariat.
He urged residents across Edo State to participate actively in the January 16 election by turning out in large numbers to exercise their voting rights.
Earlier, Urhoghide welcomed the governor and other government officials and party leaders to the campaign council’s secretariat, expressing appreciation for their support and involvement in preparations for the election.
The campaign council’s Director General disclosed that Okpebholo provided the facility for the council’s operations and visited to assess the renovation work carried out ahead of the campaign season.
Urhoghide explained that the renovation was necessary to provide a suitable working environment for the council and strengthen its efforts to promote APC candidates to voters across the state and the country.
He also appealed to media organisations to support the campaign council by helping communicate the party’s programmes and candidates to Nigerians, describing the media as an important partner in the electoral process.
