Tinubu Has Done No Wrong To Any Igbo Man – Okorocha Makes Bold Claim Ahead Of 2027

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has claimed that resentment towards the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Imo State and across the Southeast was significantly greater than any negative perception of President Bola Tinubu.

Okorocha made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he discussed political developments in Imo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the 2027 general elections.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the former governor argued that the APC’s major difficulties in Imo State during its previous administration were largely associated with public dissatisfaction towards Buhari.

He maintained that the level of resentment directed at the late president could not be compared with the criticism currently directed at Tinubu in the Southeast.

Okorocha also cautioned against interpreting dissatisfaction with state government policies as opposition to the President, arguing that public protests or negative sentiments towards a governor should not automatically be attributed to Tinubu.

He insisted that the current president had not done anything wrong to the Igbo people, adding that Tinubu maintained strong relationships with members of the Southeast community during his time as governor of Lagos State.

The former governor expressed confidence that his emergence as the APC candidate for the Imo West senatorial seat would strengthen the party’s chances in Imo State and contribute to Tinubu’s electoral prospects in the state.

Speaking on the internal crisis within the Imo State chapter of the APC, Okorocha also challenged Governor Hope Uzodimma over the party’s leadership structure.

He expressed confidence that legal challenges to his position would fail, signalling his determination to maintain his political standing within the party.

His comments come amid growing political manoeuvring within the APC as key figures position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
