Fenerbahçe Target Nigerian Striker Kelechi Iheanacho After Stunning 16-Goal Start In Turkey

Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are reportedly considering a January transfer move for Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho following his impressive performances for Bursaspor.

The 30-year-old forward has enjoyed a remarkable start to his career in Turkey after joining Bursaspor as a free agent during the summer transfer window.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Iheanacho’s outstanding form has attracted the attention of Fenerbahçe, who are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing the Nigerian international when the January transfer window opens.

The striker has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in just 12 league appearances for Bursaspor, earning widespread attention for his remarkable contribution to the club’s attacking performance.

His impressive statistics have reportedly placed him on Fenerbahçe’s radar as the Istanbul-based club seeks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.

Fenerbahçe are hoping to improve their position in the Turkish Super Lig and challenge city rivals Galatasaray for the league title. The club currently occupies fifth position on the table, having accumulated 16 points from nine matches.

Meanwhile, the club has also experienced a change in its technical department following the departure of former manager İsmail Kartal earlier in the week, reportedly after the derby defeat to Galatasaray.

Former Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt has been appointed interim manager while the club continues its search for a permanent head coach.

With Iheanacho enjoying an impressive scoring run at Bursaspor, a potential January move to Fenerbahçe could become one of the notable transfer developments involving a Nigerian footballer during the winter transfer window.

However, the reported interest has yet to result in a confirmed offer or agreement between the clubs.
