Why Are People Criticising The Family? – Mohbad’s Father Weighs In On Toluwanisings Burial Row

Published

Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has joined the ongoing debate surrounding the disagreement between the family of late gospel musician Toluwanisings and his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi, over his burial arrangements.

Aloba reportedly compared the situation involving Toluwanisings’ family with his own experience following the death of his son, questioning why members of the late gospel singer’s family were facing criticism over their position on the burial.

In his comments, he allegedly raised concerns about the living conditions of Toluwanisings’ relatives and those of his in-laws, claiming that the singer’s mother-in-law lived in a comfortable house equipped with air conditioning, while his father reportedly occupied a room with an annual rent of ₦35,000.

He also questioned why some people were criticising the family and suggesting that they should handle the burial disagreement differently from the controversy that followed Mohbad’s death.

Aloba’s remarks come amid reports of a disagreement between Toluwanisings’ widow and his relatives over where the late musician should be laid to rest.

According to reports, Elizabeth Olayemi prefers that her late husband be buried in a cemetery rather than at the house he reportedly built, while members of his family are said to oppose her preference.

The disagreement has continued to attract public attention, with Aloba’s intervention adding another perspective to the ongoing discussion about family involvement, spousal wishes and burial decisions following the death of a loved one.
