₦700,000 Dating Scandal: Man Tracks Down Lady After She Allegedly Disappears With His Money

Published

A young woman has reportedly been arrested in her neighbourhood after allegedly collecting ₦700,000 from a man who invited her on a date before cutting off communication with him.

According to Bush Radio Academy, a neighbour who narrated the incident said the man approached the woman last Monday while she was on her way to the market. He reportedly told her that he had noticed her around the neighbourhood, expressed interest in getting to know her and asked if they could spend time together.

The neighbour explained that the pair eventually agreed to meet the following Sunday. As part of their arrangement, the man reportedly transferred ₦700,000 to the woman to prepare for the date, while they also agreed that he would pick her up in his car.

However, when the scheduled date arrived, the woman allegedly failed to show up. She reportedly stopped responding to his phone calls and messages before eventually blocking him.

The man initially waited, hoping she would contact him, but became concerned when he could no longer reach her. He subsequently contacted a friend who lived on the same street and shared the woman’s photographs to help locate her.

According to the account, the man and his friend visited the woman’s residence on Sunday but were unable to find her. They reportedly returned the following day, when she was eventually arrested in the neighbourhood.

The neighbour further claimed that the man presented the woman with two options: refund the ₦700,000 or face legal action in court.

The incident has generated conversations about financial expectations, trust and accountability in modern dating relationships.

However, the account has not been independently verified, and details surrounding the circumstances of the reported arrest, including whether formal charges have been filed, remain unclear.
