Farah Dagogo Breaks Silence, Denies Suing ADC Over Rivers Governorship Primary
Former member of the House of Representatives and Rivers State governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo, has denied reports claiming that he instituted legal proceedings against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over the party’s governorship primary.
Dagogo described the reports circulating on social media as false, misleading and unauthorised, insisting that he neither instructed a lawyer to file a case nor authorised any court action against the party.
According to a statement issued by the former lawmaker, he did not brief any legal practitioner, swear to an affidavit or approve the filing of any originating court process challenging the ADC’s Rivers State governorship primary.
Reports had suggested that Dagogo approached a court to contest the outcome of the primary and that the case was subsequently dismissed. However, he firmly rejected the claims and demanded that those spreading the information provide verifiable evidence.
He challenged anyone alleging that a lawsuit was filed in his name to produce the suit number, name of the court, filing date, details of the legal counsel and certified true copies of the relevant court documents.
Dagogo also raised concerns about the possible impersonation or forgery of his identity, noting that the unauthorised use of his name in connection with a legal action required investigation.
He disclosed that he had instructed his lawyers to establish the origin of the publication and take appropriate civil action, as well as criminal action where applicable, against anyone found responsible.
The former lawmaker urged members of the public, political supporters and other stakeholders to disregard the report and avoid circulating unverified information.
Dagogo maintained that he remained a law-abiding citizen committed to due process, adding that he would not allow what he described as false narratives to distract him.
