How To Check If You Qualify For FG’s ₦50,000 Emergency Cash Support Through Moniepoint

Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has announced that its customers can now check their eligibility for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 emergency relief fund through the bank’s USSD platform.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the bank instructed customers to dial 557327# using their registered phone numbers and select the eligibility-check option under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

According to Bush Radio Academy, customers confirmed as beneficiaries will be guided through the process of accepting the financial support, after which the ₦50,000 will be credited directly to their Moniepoint accounts at no cost.

Moniepoint disclosed that it is among the payment platforms selected by the Federal Government to facilitate the distribution of the emergency relief funds, with disbursements having commenced on Tuesday.

The initiative, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is designed to provide financial assistance to vulnerable households facing the pressure of rising living costs.

The bank explained that beneficiaries were identified through the government’s verification process, which involved the use of national identity records and the National Social Register.

It further clarified that the payments would be made in phases, meaning that beneficiaries would not necessarily receive the funds at the same time.

Moniepoint Managing Director, Babatunde Olofin, said the bank would deploy its technology to ensure that beneficiaries could access the support through a convenient and secure process.

He also advised customers to use only the bank’s official USSD channel when checking their eligibility and accessing the funds.

The bank warned that customers would not be required to pay any fees, submit additional documents or engage agents to receive the financial assistance.

Customers seeking further information were advised to contact Moniepoint’s customer care team or the NERSI helpdesk.

Important: Customers should use only the official USSD channel and avoid sharing their PINs or other sensitive banking details with anyone claiming to facilitate the payment.
