Tinubu Heads To Akwa Ibom, Rivers For Major Project Commissioning And APC Rally
President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to embark on a two-day visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers States, beginning on Friday, November 6, as part of his official and political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President is expected to arrive in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he will commission several projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the development was announced in a statement released on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Among the projects scheduled for inauguration are the newly constructed International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village, all located at Victor Attah International Airport.
Other projects listed for commissioning include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
Tinubu is also expected to commission the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort during his stay in the state.
In preparation for the presidential visit, Governor Umo Eno has declared Friday a work-free day to allow residents to participate in welcoming the President.
Following his engagements in Akwa Ibom, Tinubu will travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday, November 7, to attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally.
The rally will mark his third major political outing since he formally launched his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
Onanuga said the visit would also provide the President with an opportunity to interact with political stakeholders, APC members and supporters in both states as the ruling party intensifies its preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
