The approval comes as a response to Governor Zulum’s commitment to address the shortage of medical professionals, particularly in Gwoza, to ensure the region’s healthcare demands are adequately met.
Governor Zulum had previously visited the General Hospital in Gwoza Town, taking note of the hospital’s challenging conditions and its staff’s dedication to providing medical services under adverse circumstances.
In light of this, he directed the rehabilitation of the hospital to enhance its facilities.
During a recent visit to Gwoza, the staff received essential food items such as rice, sugar, beans, and cooking oil, as per the governor’s directive.
While the rice, sugar, and cooking oil were supplied from the Government House in Maiduguri, the Hospital Management Board procured the remaining condiments.
Kullima, the chief medical director, embarked on an assessment of various health facilities across the state, including Bama, Uba, Lassa, Askira, Chibok, Konduga, and Damboa General Hospitals.
This effort is part of the broader strategy to tackle the challenges facing health centers and ensure their optimal functionality.
