Kebbi State Governor Approves N675 Million Furniture Allowance For Local Government Council Chairmen

According to the statement, Alhaji Mohammed Sani-Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, acknowledged that “the approval is for 2022 to 2024.”

The governor’s spokesperson highlighted that the Permanent Secretary commended the governor for this decision, citing it as evidence of the governor’s genuine concern for the welfare of the people.

In response to this development, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and also the Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government, expressed gratitude to the governor for his generous gesture.

He assured that the allocated funds would encompass furniture allowances for not only the local government council Chairmen but also for councilors and secretaries.

“While the allowance may have been pending for a while, the current administration under the exceptional leadership of our esteemed governor has graciously sanctioned this allowance. This signifies exemplary leadership,” he conveyed.

He further added, “May Almighty Allah continue to guide him and grant him the wisdom to steer the state towards excellent governance.
