Renowned author and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, known for his unwavering stance on justice and democracy, has swiftly responded to this disturbing threat. Taking to his verified Twitter account, Omokri vehemently condemned the audacious proclamation by the military junta, urging ECOWAS and its leading figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria, to tackle the situation head-on.

He tweeted: “On the threat by General Tchiani to kill President Mohamed Bazoum if ECOWAS intervenes militarily to restore constitutional order in Niger, I urge President Tinubu and ECOWAS to respond strongly with a warning. If General Tchiani carries out his threat, he should be ready to face the full weight of international law.”
Omokri further added that such heinous acts, if perpetrated, would see the guilty parties treated as “common criminals.” He asserted that General Tchiani and any of his accomplices would be tried by the ECOWAS court, and if found guilty, they would face the death penalty in alignment with international legal standards.
