He narrated that security agents had requested vehicle documents, which Sanni had his wife send through WhatsApp after a phone call.

Later, Sanni informed his wife during a call that soldiers were still inspecting the vehicle’s papers. Tragically, this was the last communication before his body, riddled with bullet wounds, was found near the Toyota Bus Stop in the Oshodi area, adjacent to a military barracks.

In an update regarding the ongoing investigation into the murder and related armed robbery, the Nigerian Police Force issued a statement in Abuja on Monday. Senator Adeola, in the statement he personally signed, expressed his conviction that his aide was slain by a group of soldiers associated with the newly appointed Commander of the 9 Brigade at Ikeja Cantonment, Brigadier General Nsikan John Edet. The allegations revolve around checkpoints being used as a platform for robbing solitary car occupants.

Based on information garnered from top Police sources familiar with the investigation, Senator Adeola revealed that another violent murder and armed robbery event took place around the Ojodu-Berger area on the late night of August 17, 2023. In this incident, the victim was killed after being taken away by soldiers from a checkpoint, and his body was subsequently discovered near Iyana-Ipaja.

The Senator is urging for a thorough investigation into these grave allegations, seeking to uncover the truth behind the involvement of soldiers in the tragic events.
