The Deputy Governor elaborated on the strategy for the distribution, ensuring every household in the 11 wards and 270 units of Biu would be recipients. He urged for a peaceful and orderly process. Kadafur also assured that the entire state’s local governments would receive these palliatives in line with federal directives to counteract the subsidy removal’s impact.
A significant move in the state’s rehabilitation process was the inauguration of 300 housing units by the Borno State Government. Engineer Ibrahim Idriss, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement (RRR), highlighted that the 300 semi-detached houses, consisting of two rooms each, will accommodate two households per unit.
The Caretaker Chairman of Biu Council area, Alhaji Sule Ali Yimi, praised Prof. Zulum’s leadership and expressed optimism for more developmental projects in Biu. He urged the populace to sustain their support for Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s administration to reap more democratic dividends.
The Emir of Biu, His Royal Highness, Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha II, voiced his gratitude towards the efforts of the governor and his deputy. He acknowledged the substantial developmental progress in the Emirate Council regions.
