In an era where public trust in political leaders is waning, a few still manage to shine through the murkiness, proving that leadership with the people’s interest at heart is still possible. Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State is one such leader, as recent photos circulating the internet show him hands-on, distributing the Federal Government’s palliatives to residents in his state. Zulum has previously been in the spotlight for his transparency and dedication to his people. He was the first state governor to openly disclose that the Federal Government, under President Tinubu’s leadership, had distributed a considerable sum of 5 billion Naira alongside three thousand bags of rice to state governors. This level of transparency is rare and has garnered him significant appreciation.
Following the revelation, Nigerians have voiced their opinions widely on various platforms. Among the many sentiments expressed, a common thread appeared. Many Nigerians revealed that out of all the state governors, they have the utmost trust in only a few when it comes to the judicious use of these subsidy palliatives.
