The decision to hold the NRC MD accountable was announced by the Transport Minister following an unannounced visit to the Abuja Train Station of the Abuja-Kaduna Train Service (AKTS).
The AKTS, initiated for commercial operations in 2017, has faced complaints about consistent train delays, safety apprehensions, and passenger dissatisfaction.
Given these concerns, the Minister expressed his intent for Okhiria to elucidate his perceived shortcomings and offer a satisfactory explanation for potential disciplinary actions.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, the Minister underscored the significance of actualizing improvements and rectifying identified issues.
