The unfortunate event unfolded when a case of attempted murder was reported in Sango-Ota. Abiodun Fatai reported that his younger brother, Ramon Rasaq, was involved in a confrontation with security personnel on their street.
Fatai explained that the dispute arose when Rasaq independently opened the gate as the two security men, identified as Michael Adelayo and Ganiyu Saka, were not present at their security post when Rasaq arrived at the gate, entering the street on his own.
This led to an altercation, and during the ensuing scuffle, one of the security personnel, Saka, allegedly shot Rasaq in the eye.
After the incident, the victim was promptly taken to a traditional healer who successfully removed seven pellets from his right eye. CSP Saleh Dahiru, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sango-Ota, facilitated the issuance of necessary medical forms for Rasaq’s transfer to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
At the hospital, Rasaq received immediate medical attention to stabilize his condition, but unfortunately, he lost his right eye. The attending doctor assured that Rasaq was responding positively to treatment.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, has instructed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Departments for further inquiry and potential prosecution.
