He expressed his congratulations by stating, “I extend my warm congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Court.

This confirmation of their election earlier this year restores Nigerians’ faith in our country’s Judiciary and the integrity of our electoral processes.”

Lawan further commended the tribunal for its unwavering and principled approach in ensuring that its judgments were grounded in the available evidence, rather than unsupported claims.

He emphasized that the PEPC’s ruling conveys a clear message to politicians, highlighting the Judiciary’s understanding of its role and its reluctance to mediate in matters that fall within the purview of political parties.

Additionally, Lawan noted that the decision of candidates from various political parties to challenge the results of the 2023 Presidential election provided an opportunity to examine the provisions of the Electoral Act passed by the 9th Assembly. This process, he noted, contributes to the enhancement of the nation’s democratic processes.
