Governor Zulum elaborated on the significance of the “Social Investment Bill,” stating that it would enable the state to offer social services such as financial aid and essential supplies to individuals impacted by the Boko Haram insurgency.

In addition to the aforementioned bill, the Governor signed into law eight other pieces of legislation, which encompass the “Borno State Criminal Justice Administration Laws,” the “Borno State Penal Code Law,” the “Borno State Secondary Education Board Bill,” the “Borno State Investment Protection Bill,” the “Borno Primary Healthcare Development Bill,” the “Borno State Drugs and Other Medical Consumables Bill,” the “Borno State Livestock Management Bill,” and the “Borno Local Government Amendment Bill.”

Governor Zulum highlighted that the “Borno State Criminal Justice Administration Law” specifically addresses the rising cases of rape and political thuggery.

Those found involved in political thuggery could face up to seven (7) years in prison, and their sponsors would also not escape legal consequences, he emphasized.
