Furthermore, the tribunal affirmed INEC’s authority to decide the mode of results transmission, whether manually or electronically.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ program on Friday, Akande asserted that INEC’s failure to electronically transmit the results of the 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections has eroded the trust of the Nigerian populace.

According to Akande, INEC did not fulfill its commitment to upload polling unit results on its Result Viewing Portal, despite the assurance given to Nigerians both within the country and abroad.

He remarked, “It is crucial to acknowledge a fundamental issue that we cannot ignore. INEC emerged from this election with a tarnished reputation.

“In fact, the Chairman of INEC went overseas and stated, ‘Our plan is that these results, as soon as we receive them, will be posted in real-time on IReV.'”
