The NNPP attributed these attacks to the losses suffered by Ganduje in the last election.

The party’s state chairman, Hasimu Dungurawa, stated that “The pain inflicted by Kwankwaso on his political godson, which culminated in losing his ward in a competitive election, appears to have triggered the verbal assault.”

Dungurawa emphasized that Ganduje owes much of his political stature to Kwankwaso’s generosity and support. He cautioned Ganduje not to forget that Kwankwaso is his political mentor.

Dungurawa remarked, “This attack sends the wrong message in Nigeria’s political landscape, especially considering that historical records show that Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje owes much of his current status to Kwankwaso’s generosity and political support.

If Ganduje has forgotten, he is addressing his political mentor, someone he served as Deputy Governor for 8 years and who also appointed him to key positions, including the Lake Chad Commission and Personal Secretary when he was Minister of Defense.

It was Kwankwaso who, against all odds, ensured that Ganduje succeeded him as governor in 2015 after serving two terms.”

Dungurawa concluded by highlighting that Ganduje has not won elections independently from 1999 to the present, and the recent General elections where he faced defeat both locally and elsewhere underscore this fact.
