Obaseki stated that his administration would remain focused on fulfilling campaign promises and keeping Edo united.

He clarified that he does not intend to personally appoint or anoint his successor but stressed the need for a transparent and inclusive selection process.

The governor also addressed his relationship with Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, stating that he had no personal issues with him.
