Abia State Assembly Receives Petitions Against Health Commissioner And Land Grabbing Allegations

This petition is directed against the acting Director of Nursing Services in Abia State, Mr. Nwakaego Onyeukwu. The petition alleges fraudulent malpractices, intimidation, and threats to expel students.

This petition was presented during a plenary session at the House. Additionally, the House received another petition against the Abia State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okoronkwo.

This petition pertains to the alleged unjust suspension of the petitioner, Mrs. Dorathy Nwosu, who is a Director of Nursing Services.

Furthermore, there was a third petition brought forward by the acting Principal of the School of Nursing in Umuahia, Mrs. Chinyere Ogbonna. This petition is directed against the Dean of the Ministry of Health in Umuahia.

In the petition against the Dean, the petitioner claims that her character was defamed and her responsibilities were taken over by others.

The Speaker, Emmanuel Emeruwa, ruled on these three petitions by referring them to the House Committee on Health for investigation. The committee is expected to report its findings within two weeks.

Additionally, a petition submitted by Dr. Ugochukwu Nwajiri, the Chairman of Ndiokonkwo House, alleges land grabbing in Oba Uzonta, Amaokwe Mba Odum autonomous community in Ozuitem, Bende Local Government Area, against Mr. Ndionyenma Nwajiri. This petition was referred to the Committee on Public Petitions for investigation, with a report expected within two weeks.
