Speaking at the inaugural meeting with contractors operating within the state, the Commissioner for Highway and Urban Roads, Engr. Reuben Ezezi, asserted that the government would not reimburse contractors for substandard road construction and other projects under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Ezezi clarified that this decision has become imperative due to some companies providing low-quality road projects that cheated the previous administration.

He stated, “We expect roads that possess enduring quality and are commensurate with the funds allocated by the state government. We will not tolerate substandard construction. If you fulfill your contractual obligations to the required standards, you can rest assured that we will uphold our end of the agreement.”

Additionally, the Commissioner for Riverine and Rural Roads, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, stressed that the government is committed to ensuring high-quality work, emphasizing that no payment will be made for projects that do not meet the specified standards.
