During the third graduation ceremony of the School of Politics, Policy, and Governance in Abuja, Ezekwesili highlighted that leadership remains a fundamental challenge in Africa, a fact widely acknowledged.

She emphasized that “if we can address the leadership crisis prevalent on our continent, one thing is certain: Africa will rise to prominence in the 21st century.”

Ezekwesili pinpointed poor public leadership as Africa’s core problem and positioned the School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG) as a response to this challenge.

She asserted that Africa should not be governed by its least qualified individuals, and if one rejects a situation, they must take action to correct it.

As the founder of SPPG, Ezekwesili revealed that the school’s creation stemmed from the necessity to nurture leaders of integrity who can influence positive change in both the political and business realms.

She urged the graduating class to consistently uphold the values of character, competence, and capacity advocated by the school.

Furthermore, she warned that certificates awarded by the school could be revoked if graduates were found lacking in character or competence while in public office.
